Ministries
The Church is a Spirit-created, Spirit-empowered community of redeemed sinners living all of life on mission for the Kingdom of God with the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This call is an all-consuming one that we give our time, money, gifts, and energy towards. It is not secondary or peripheral; it is primary and central in all that we do.
At GCC, we believe the elder's role is to equip and resource the people of God for the work of ministry. Elders are to be "overseers", not "over-doers!" Our desire is to preach and teach the Word of God in such a way as to ignite a passion in the hearts of our people for the glory of God and the gospel of Christ.
Instead of having a complex web of ministry programs for different ages and demographics of people, we want to focus on a few things and do them well. We want to preach the Word and worship together. We want to call our men to sacrificial spiritual leadership in their marriage and households. We want to call women to strong and hope-filled womanhood as wives and mothers and daughters. We want to call parents to disciple their children and raise them in the ways of God. We want to call households to together put on display the manifold witness of God's beauty and design. And we want to call all believers to live their life on mission for the kingdom in the power of the gospel.
As we endeavor to do these simple things, we believe the Church will rise up, grow strong, and present a compelling witness to the world.
